About
Inkression is a 3D Narrative Exploration game about collecting the final moments of a dying neighborhood as a tattoo artist.
The story of Inkression takes place in Nortown, a fictional borough in a sprawling metropolis inspired by New York City. Five years ago, in 2019, the City launched its Revitalization Plan, aiming to transform aging neighborhoods into centralized commercial hubs. Now, in 2024, the City has decided to restart the initiative—beginning with Nortown.
You play as Milly, a tattoo artist who left Nortown five years ago to search for her missing younger sister. Returning now, you’re drawn back both to take one last look at the place you once loved and to uncover new clues about where your sister may have gone.

Characters
Milly
The Tattooist / The Player
Born and raised in Seaside, Milly followed her passion to pursue a career as a tattooist after she got her first tattoo at The Blindfolded from Mr. Z. 29 years old now, Milly is no longer the passionate and outgoing person she used to be due to the demolition, the years plagued by COVID-19, and a sister that has not returned home for years.
During the years of drastic changes, Milly left Nortown to help her family deal with ongoing conflicts caused by the Revitalization Plan and to take care of her parents’ health. With the Revitalization Plan moving towards Nortown, Milly is called to return to Nortown per Mr. Z’s request for this will be her last chance to look at the place that she used to love.
Molly
The Sister
Milly’s younger sister, more reserved and quiet than Milly. She spent some of her younger years trying hard to be what Milly is like, but eventually came to the conclusion that she needed the space on her own to figure out the kind of person she truly wanted to be. Yet, the bond of family and the affection from Milly are so strong that she had never been given the chance to do so.
And it has been five years since Molly was last seen by anyone that knows her.
Supporting Characters
People who are either close friends of Milly, or those that she holds grudges against. Through them, Milly will not only understand what has happened in Nortown since she left, but also their own personal struggles during the past five turbulent years.
Folks of Nortown
Nortown neighbors, each dealing with their own struggles of navigating their future in the face of the imminent demolition, or lingering about in town to put an end to unresolved matters.
