About
The Hilltop Funeral is a chaotic 2 player coop game where you are a pair of professional pallbearers who are assigned to safely transport a valued "client" inside the casket to the funeral home at the hilltop.
Features
✢ Tilt the casket to maintain stability of the corpse, jump over obstacles, avoid supernatural beings, do all you can to make sure both the dead and you get to the hilltop safely!
✢ The graveyard is full of unexpected dangers! Careful not to fall of a bridge, never step inside an empty grave, and watch out for boulders that rain from the sky!
✢ The corpse and the casket are prone to damage and deterioration. When the body completely deteriorates, you have failed doing your job! Pick up planks, nails, cloth, and ropes scattered along the way and make sure the boss doesn’t see any damages on anything!
Early Access
The Hilltop Funeral began as a small side project for BROKENCIGS in March 2025. After a month of working on the project part-time, the team is astonished by what we have come up, and are feeling passionate about pushing the game forward into something more serious.
With the team producing a highly polished playable game within a month, we believe that the game’s potential, on top of our team’s ability to deliver efficiently in a timely manner, The Hilltop Funeral can and will transform into something successful.
The 1.0 release is estimated to release in Q2-Q3 2026. During this time, we plan to include:
✢ Difficulty Variation: Easy, Normal, and Hard modes for different players to suit their desired gaming experience.
✢ Race Mode: Compete with up to 4 players to reach the hilltop first, each player is now on their own to carry the coffin.
✢ More Playable Characters: With potential special skills each character can bring to the table.
✢ More Levels: 7 more levels for players to conquer and eventually reach the Hilltop at the end.
✢ Powerups: Players will encounter items along the way that greatly assist them in completing the task.
We are an indie studio and we pour our heart and soul into each project that we create.
